The Rope Dart is one of the weapons of Chinese martial arts, that relies on being able to fire the projectile at the end of the dart quickly using any of the bodies joints. In recent years it has grown into an art form, seeing the addition of fire and LED heads, and putting it into the realm of the Flow Arts.
Rope Dart is a fairly uncommon prop in the Flow Art community, and is largely unexplored. It is perhaps the easiest Flow Art prop to pick up, but among the hardest to master. The main technique is to shoot the dart forward then pull it back, a skill that can be picked up in an afternoon. However, there are a huge number of possibilities for variation, as it can be fired from pretty much any joint in the body. It also offers a lot of opportunities for dance as it can be wrapped around your body to be controlled without your hands. Due to its unexplored nature it is a very open realm of the Flow Arts, lacking a lot of the structured information that other Flow Arts have.
